ENTER OUR COMPETITION TO WIN A £2,500 VINYL PACKAGE, PLUS A £2,500 GRANT FOR YOUR LOCAL MUSIC PROJECT
We have partnered with Youth Music, the UK’s leading charity helping marginalised young people into careers in music, to raise awareness of Rescue the Roots, the major fundraising campaign that Youth Music launched last week to support grassroots music.
DMS are supporting the Rescue the Roots campaign with a competition, giving independent artists the chance to win not only a £2,500 vinyl pressing package for their merch table for the summer, but also a £2,500 cash grant for a local grassroots music project of their choice!
The competition launches on Wednesday 19th March 2025, and only runs for a limited time. Entry is free and simple, and open to every independent band, artist and label across the UK.

To increase your chances of winning, you receive extra entries into the prize draw by donating whatever you can to the Rescue the Roots fund, however much or little you can afford to give.
The aim is for Rescue the Roots to reach £1 million in donations, which Youth Music will 100% match fund, giving a huge £2 million to be quickly distributed to the youth organisations and emerging young creatives who are in urgent need of support.
On top of the £5,000 in competition prizes up for grabs, DMS Vinyl have donated £10,000 to the Rescue the Roots cause, to help it off the ground and encourage others to spare what they can.

Having already supported more than 5,000 music projects throughout Britain, Youth Music work hard to prove that every child, teenager and young adult facing inequity, exclusion and discrimination can improve their life through music. The charity has supported the formative careers of Ezra Collective, Sam Fender, English Teacher, Laura Mvula, Rizzle Kicks and a host of others; alongside fantastic work supporting early years, disabled, deaf and neurodivergent young people.
This is what NME Magazine had to say about the Rescue the Roots campaign:
"This is a call to arms that aims to drive systemic change, unite the sector to address the current crisis, and sustain the ecosystem for the long term."
So, not only do YOU have the chance to win £2,500 of vinyl for your own band, you can make a real difference with £2,500 for your local music project, as well as being a part of the wider 'Rescue the Roots' campaign; which expects to help 18,000 creative people just in 2025 alone.
Good luck to everyone entering and let's raise as much as we can for a great cause! Here is a fantastic documentary on the Rescue the Roots if you'd like to find out more about what they do...
